Camping in the Style of Bill Bryson

Camping! Who would want to go camping? When you're young it seems extremely fun, sleeping in the almost out door, walking half a mile to go to the toilet during the night and having a man running around in a big bird costume as entertainment. Once you have been once you will swear to never return, but then there are the families who decide to go year after year; 'this is the tenf' year we've been ea', and we still love it'. You could be lucky and get a caravan or you could be the unlucky one with a tent, but you think never mind at least the kids will enjoy it.

When going on a camping holiday, the first thing you need to decide is what camp site you're going to, in the U.K. there's a large range of camp sites, you may want to go to one in the north where from start to beginning it will rain, you could choose a camp site in the middle of the country, where there's a slight chance of rain, but it would still be too cold to take a dip in the algae filled pool, but the final choice is down south, where you could either have blazing sun all week, or storms all week, but at least there's a chance of getting to a beach. Or you could stay in the warmth comfort of your own home. So where ever you choose to go it will rain!

The next choice would be accommodation, you could take the choice of a caravan, you may mock the caravan, with its inventive seats that pull out to be beds, and the small toilet, that you have to empty your self, which is another of the joys of camping, but at least it keeps you dry. The second choice would be the tent, have fun while sleeping on the hard cold floor and getting neck cramp, there may be a chance of leaking, but let's risk it anyway, and there are no real doors or windows, but we can trust our fellow campers, can't we?
