Where to Watch Your Favorite TV Shows Online for Free

The cable television subscription is a mixed blessing. Sure, you are paying for a service that lets you watch your favorite shows. Unfortunately, unless you own a TiVo, TV doesn't wait to operate on your schedule.

This is where the Internet comes in. Using the mighty Internet tubes, you can watch TV when it best suits you - no TiVo required. A number of networks show some of their popular shows online the day after they air.

ABC's service makes most of their prime-time hits available such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. As of the writing of this article, they are sharing the entire current season for each show.

NBC's Rewind site allows you to view two-minute replays for many of their shows but they're pretty stingy about sharing full episodes. For instance, the latest full episode is available for Heroes and 30 Rock, but fans of The Office, Scrubs or ER will be out of luck.

CBS's innertube usually keeps the latest episode for a show online, possibly more. When looking up How I Met Your Mother, only the last aired episode was available. Searching for CSI, however, I noticed that the previous four episodes were online.

Fox On Demand gives you access to the latest episodes of network hits such as 24, Prison Break, Bones, and the new comedy 'Til Death. It even lets you watch the last few episodes of The OC, which ended back in February.

Adult Swim's Fix makes some of the network's more popular shows available after they air, but usually only a few episodes. Fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, The Venture Brothers - here's where to get your fix.

Using these sites, made available by the major broadcast networks, you can now watch TV on your own time. And the best part? It's free.
