A classic rare and seldom see vehicle, something very nostalgic, and very uncommon, then this Ford is for you. The 1965 Ford Econoline pickup is a real treat. If you have remembered Econoline van, then you have been thirties plus read you may not remember seeing the pickup version of this light duty truck line, there were not many off them around even way back in the day.

Some people thought that they may have seen some chopped off, customized van and that it was a prefabricated to be a small pickup truck. Only the Ford did build a small number of the pickups configured Econolines. With just around 7,400 Econoline pickups were then manufactured in the year 1965, the year the pictured.

Rangoon Red beauty was produced around 4,340 of those was the standard model 87 A, also with another 3,065 of the 87 B Custom versions being sold that same year. Approximately 60,000 vans were then built in 1965 in several configurations which include the panel van, cargo van and also the window van. When in 1966, a total of over 2,578 Econoline pickups were made, and the additional 2,015 hitting the streets also in the models last production year in 1967.

For the 1961 the first year for the Ford's snub nosed Econoline products, only they were just under 14, 00 pickups built, and the Econolines were then referred to ass the Falcon Econoline Van or the pickups early on, only the Falcon name seems to also have been dropped from the truck line sometime in the mid-sixes before the demise of these particular snub nosed vehicles.

When looking up in the Standard Catalog of Americas Light Duty Trucks, Fords also does call for the Econolines had gotten better for their fuel economy and also all around drivability. The Econoline even got much better gas mileage, around 30 miles per gallon then the standard pickups and even easier to maneuver.

4. Dome lights
5. Single electric horn.
6. Turn signals.
7. I- Beam front axle.
8. Vinyl upholstery.
9. Three speed manual tranny.
10. Spare tire.
11. Insulated engine cover between driver and the passenger seats.

I have an Econoline truck down here in Texas that needs restoring, I don't know much about these particular vehicles except that they are rare, and were made for or by the Navy, and I don't have the money to restore it. Could anyone please send me more info on these type vehicles?

I have a 1966 five window,full roll cage.shortened and braced 9inch rear, 21 inch wide mickey's,4 link with coil overs,wheelie bars ,mickey front tires and polished centerlines and way too much more to list. Will sell or trade. Gregg1957@aol.com

I had one of these in '76-'77. Mine had a brass plate on the lower right corner of the drivers side door. (inside} "US Department of the Navy" 5 window, painted battleship gray.

New tire (P215-65R-15, s , Disc brakes front , new 3in drums and all new condiments, rear. Detroit locker 3.50:1 rear gear, bearings, seals and gaskets.. Test flight tomorrow. Later.

I have a 1965 E- 100 3 window that isn't in too bad of shape. Good glass except the pass window which is just flat glass. Some rust . Was running but the oil pump went out. and the starter needs to be rebuilt. I'm in renton Wash. Let me know and I'll drop you some pics

I have a 1963 three window, which I just purchased.. It has a l993 Chevy LT1 engine, and auto transmission. Its going to have some bigger tires because the small ones will light up in a heart beat.

Dennis Carpenter ford in Concord NC has lots of part for these. That's where I got door moulding for mine.

Lou: Nice truck! I have one that was originally Poppy Red. It has been in primer and in storage for 25 years.The body is perfectly straight, and awaiting paint. Do you know any source for the body moulding? I have it all except for the 2 doors.Also looking for an air cleaner. My truck has the smaller inline 6. Trying to keep it original. Thanks, Anthony
