Quitting Your Day Job to Blog

The only reason anyone should quit their day job to blog is if the blogging opportunities are quite ample and the possibility exists that sufficient money can be made. Yes, there are people who blog for a living, but they didn't just decide one day to not go to work and start making tons of money in that same day. These people worked their way up to it by blogging and working their regular job at the same time. It is most definitely not an overnight thing and sometimes doing such a thing can take years.

If someone wants blogging to be their primary job, then much research and patience is needed. It isn't something that is going to happen at the snap of a finger, so it takes much work to be one of the few who blog full-time. Yes, it takes time, so there is no need to quit your day job unless you've secured an opportunity that is bringing in some money and is guaranteed to bring you more if you can devote more time to it. The key word there being 'guaranteed' because with any writing job the work has to remain constant in order for you to make the money to pay the bills.

I have finally reached the point where I could quit my day job to write to my heart's content, but for the seven years before that I had been working a regular full-time job and writing in my off time. I knew it would happen one day, but in order for it to I had to continue to do my research and take on as many opportunities as possible. With years of hard work I finally get to reap the benefits. Yes, I make money and pay the bills, but it is in keeping the projects coming everyday that keeps the money coming in with it. It is a dream that can be achieved, but it isn't going to happen in the blink of an eye.
