When planning to start a family, couples ask several different questions regarding whether they should get pregnant now or wait: Are we financially ready? Is our house big enough, or should we wait to own a house? Is it the right time? Do I want to build my career first? Are we too young or too old?

I am sure that there are a lot more common questions to add to that list. These are very good questions to ask, but there is a whole other aspect to having kids that people do not really think of when planning: Are you ready to sacrifice?

Your right, you have to make a lot of sacrifices. I have to go without a lot of things just to make sure that my children have. But, I wouldn't change a thing. Great article.

While a lot of this is true I think some of it is exaggerated. I do get alone time when my husband has our son and when he's sleeping. I do get to watch what I want on TV. My son is 2 and only just started showing an interest in TV recently. For me it's Animal Planet a lot not cartoons...but nevertheless, my son doesn't watch TV constantly. I can watch TV when he's with our husband, sleeping, playing cars. If I want to go out I can leave him with my husband or a babysitter. I can still afford to buy myself clothes and take little vacations. Obviously parenting does require sacrifice on so many levels, and you're right on most of this. But you've grossly exaggerated here.

Great article Evie-Sounds alot like my life! I am fortunate to be a stay at home mom and I love my kids more than anything, having them 16 1/2months apart can be difficult but definitly worth it. We can swap weekends for sitting the kids!

Right on, it took me an hour just to read the article because one of my "angels" constantly needed something!
