The bottle style is definitely an improvement, but do Walgreens' "Easy Open" Pain Reliever, Extra Strength Acetaminophen caplets work as well as Tylenol? What makes this product so much easier to use?

Recently, while shopping at my neighborhood Walgreens store, I stumbled upon a pain reliever I had never purchased before. Although I was looking for Tylenol, I decided to give this new product a try.

The Walgreens' brand of Extra Strength Pain Reliever with acetaminophen now comes in an "easy open" bottle. This bottle struck my attention because I typically have a hard time opening prescription and non-prescription bottles.

Effectiveness of Product: Walgreens Extra Strength Pain Reliever with Acetaminophen helped relieve my headache as quickly as the Tylenol product of the same brand and strength. Each caplet is 500 mg each and is similar to the size of its Tylenol counterpart.

Cost of Product: Walgreens Extra Strength Pain Reliever with acetaminophen cost $5.99 for a bottle of 150 caplets in 500 mg strength. This bottle was purchased in September 2007 in the Memphis, Tennessee area. This represented a savings of approximately $3.00 in comparison to the same amount in the Tylenol brand. After comparing this also with other brands and types of pain relievers, I felt like this was a good price-point for the product and did not feel like I was sacrificing value.

Bottle-Style: "Easy Open" is the description used on the front of the bottle of Walgreens' Extra Strength Pain Reliever with Acetaminophen. That is definitely a perfect description of the bottle and top. The top has six indentions on the sides of the lid that make it easy to grasp. It also makes it easy to twist back on and latch thoroughly as well. For the first time in ages, I was able to open a bottle of over-the-counter medicine quickly and easily, and be able to re-attach the lid as well. Due to a medical issue, I have a hard time with many lids and I was pleased with this product.

Excellent review! I wonder if they something like that in ibuprofen for those I know with arthritis.

I've found a lot of the generics are just as effective as the name brands. Great review!

Makes sense. I wouldn't get these if I had kids though.

It makes a lot of sense to have an easy open top for pain sufferers. Great review. We'll pick up a bottle to keep it on hand.
