Warner Bros. Studios have been keeping their current superhero film 'The Watchmen' under wraps for quite a few months. Now that the cast has been confirmed, the shooting started not too long ago, the film is set for release on March 6, 2009.

Here's what we know:

1) The film for sure is being directed by Zach Snyder, and is promising that the visual effects that we will see in the film will be the same as the critically acclaimed hit '300'.

2) The script revolves around an alternate reality in the year 1985, where superheroes are a common thing amongst the human race. Then, we also have the 'Doomsday Clock', an apparatus that measures the USA's tension with the Soviet Union, and is permanently set to five minutes to midnight! Who will end up pushing the red button first and starting World War III? But, in the background, we also have the mysterious murder of a colleague of one of the superheroes, one by the name of Rorschach, who must enlist the aide of his former crime-fighting group to solve the murder and uncovers a conspiracy that reaches to unknown levels that connects to their own pasts and what may happen afterward!

3) The cast has also already been set. While there had been rumors that John Cusack, Daniel Craig, and Sigourney Weaver would be joining the cast on this film, the real cast has now been officially released and they are as follows:

Jackie Earl Haley- Walter Kovacs (*Rorschach)
Malin Akerman- Laurie Juspeczyk (*Silk Spectre)
Billy Crudup- Jon Osterman (*Dr. Manhattan)
Matthew Good- Adrian Veidt (*Ozymandias)
Jeffrey Dean Morgan- Edward Blake (*The Comedian)
Patrick Wilson- Dan Dreiberg (*Nite Owl)

From the production blogs that are available on the official website, Snyder has been making appearanxces at ComicCon, the world famous comic book convention talking about the project and getting everyone stoked about the film's release. A movie poster that was presented at ComicCon has also been posted to the site, but there are no photgraphs as of late as to waht the costumes are like or when the trailer will be available.
