Recycle It, or Freecycle It? Why Not Do Both?

Luckily, everyone seems to finally be catching onto our global crisis rather nicely, although it took some time. Between the Planet Earth series on the Discovery Channel and Global Resource Education (GRE) in many our public schools, the word is out, and the message is clear; we need to ALL be doing our part. The message has been quite clear to me for years now. Growing up in Laguna Beach in the 1970's, all of my parents friends were eccentric, artsy, hippies; the world was going to hell in a hand basket back then, and I knew because I sat and listened as they talked and passed the roach clip to the left..."We're all gonna burn up, man, like the sun", I heard what I swore was a homeless man say one day to my Dad. I was terrified of the sun for years, not wanting to burn up, and ya know, it's a good thing I took that literally; that homeless looking man, whom I thought at one point might be Jesus (or at least related to him because they happened to look so much alike) was right. We're burning up; the Ozone Layer is diminishing as I write this article, water resources are low, rainforests are being plowed down acre by acre, our weather patterns are turning deadlier as the years go by, and there is NOTHING that I can do about it. Or is there?
