Although the original Xbox has only a life-span of four years (2001-2005), its impact on the gaming industry is permanent. From the inclusion of HDD in all consoles to Xbox Live, the Xbox did not lack in innovations. It didn't lack in games either as the Xbox has some of the greatest and most innovative games last generation. For those that sold well, they were repackaged with the label "Platinum Hits" and sold at a budget price. Here are the top 5 best of Xbox Platinum Hits:

5. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Publisher: Interplay, Developer: Snowblind Studios, Original Release Date: October 22, 2002, ESRB Rating: T
One of the most underrated games last generation, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is a solid and deep action RPG. Although it shares little resemblance with the classic PC series, the console versions is just as fun. Hacking and slashing through dungeons and leveling up your skills have never been so addicting. The graphics, which was top-notch at the time, is still great today thanks to the excellent artwork. Although a little short in length, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is an unforgettable experience from beginning to end.

4. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Publisher: VU Games, Developer: Starbreeze, Original Release Date: June 1, 2004, ESRB Rating: M
In the age of generic shooter after generic shooter, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay sets itself apart from others by offering unique and innovative gameplay for the genre. Surprising as the game is based on a movie and movie-based games have a history of being awful. Instead of running and gunning all the time, you also have to rely on stealth and melee combat to get by in Riddick. Along with excellent graphics, Riddick is a must play shooting fans.
