USC's recent domination has led to them having a very impressive record against each team in the Pac-10 over the past ten years. USC holds a 7 - 3 record over Washington State in the past ten years including wins in the last four meetings. Washington's State's last win over USC was a 30 - 27 upset win over USC in 2002.

The Pac-10 looks to be tougher this year than in years past and Washington State could sneak up on the Trojans if USC doesn't take them seriously. Talent-wise the USC Trojans are clearly better than Washington State but so far on the field Washington State's production stacks up pretty well to the Trojans.

USC has reloaded on offense as usual and dropped 38 points on Idaho in Week 1. But after playing a team like Idaho you would think USC would be somewhere near the top in passing offense and rushing offense. They are actually only middle of the road in both categories. John David Booty's 206 yards is probably less than he should've gotten against Idaho but he's not a Heisman candidate for nothing. He'll probably put up better numbers when he has to. The Trojans also have a good running combination in C. J. Gable and Stafon Johnson but again their numbers so far are only middle of the road compared to the rest of the Pac-10.

Normally you would think Washington State's offense numbers don't stack up to USC's but they do. Washington State's quarterback Alex Brink has averaged 320 yards per game in the first two games making them the second best passing team in the Pac-10. Washington State isn't too shabby in the running game either as they average only 30 yards less than USC. Let's also not forget that unlike USC, Washington State has played a ranked team and has still put up those large offensive numbers.

Takeaways
  • Washington State's passing game ranks second in the Pac-10
  • USC's offensive numbers are pretty mediocre considering they've only played Idaho.
  • USC should beat Washington State behind John David Booty's arm.
