The alarm sounded very loud at 4:15 am. The last time I could remember being up that early was for a flight. But this day was certainly not about preparing to go to the airport. It was fashion week in New York City and I was called to intern for a broadcasting company who was covering it. I had always loved hair, makeup, accessories, clothes and shoes as a kid. I grew up always being the polished dainty one of the group even at the age of 6, so fashion week was just the topping on the cake for me. I woke up that morning feeling well rested, alive, and invigorating. The excitement of what was about to come didn't leave me with time to think about the bags under my eyes. I quickly got ready and put on my perfect gray dress with a wrap around belt, black stiletto heels and of course accessories galore. Hey, it's fashion week, anything goes, right? I took a cab to the local express bus stop and got on the x28 which took me to Madison and East 42nd.
