This site is open all year round for the public's enjoyment. The Visitor Centers are closed on holidays and they have hours until 4 in the afternoon in the winters and until 6 in the evening in the summers. When visiting the Curecanti National Recreation Area make sure that you take note that there is a fee at the East Portal. It is $15 per vehicle. This entrance fee is good for seven days so that you can return again and again if you wish to. The rest of the site is free and open to the public.
You will most likely wish to take the Pontoon boat ride when you are there. Make sure that you dress appropriately so that you are comfortable. Good walking shoes are also recommended. When you are on the boat ride, be sure to bring along a camera and binoculars. There will be many opportunities to get some great pictures. The times for the boat tours are 10 am and 12:30 pm and the fee is $15. For children that are under 12 years old the fee is $7.50.
All in all, your visit to the Curecanti National Recreation Area will be a very pleasurable and enjoyable experience. Be sure that prepare for your trip well and that you get the chance to do and see as much as you possibly can. When you are planning for your trip keep all your information together in a folder that you can find easily. Take it with you so that you have all the information with you when you arrive for your visit.
