Hand sanitizer can be very useful when it's impossible to wash your hands, especially at work, during school, while shopping, or any other place where germs abound. During the cold and flu season these types of products are especially beneficial, but hand sanitizers aren't all the same. Dial Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer is one of the many brands and types on the market, and the following provides facts and information on Dial Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer as well as my personal opinion of this particular product.

Ingredients

Since hand sanitizer contains primarily alcohol, it can be very drying to the skin, but Dial Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer contains moisturizers. This is a plus for those with skin that's already dry, cracked, and painful, especially during winter months when germs are most prevalent and dry skin is more likely. No one wants to suffer with painfully dry skin, but likewise, no one wants to be exposed to germs commonly found on the hands.

Inactive ingredients in Dial Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer are as follows; water, carbomer, diisopropylamine, polysorbate 80, cetyl acetate, acetylated lanolin alcohol, propylene glycol, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, and fragrance. The active antibacterial ingredient in Dial Hand Sanitizer is 62% ethyl alcohol.

Product Claims

Dial Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer claims to kill 99.99% of germs instantly, and it has a light citrus scent that helps mask the odor of the alcohol. It's a refreshing change from typical skin sanitizers that smell unpleasant and overpowering. I'm wondering how a product containing this much alcohol could possibly moisturize the skin while killing germs. I have very dry skin in the winter, especially on my hands, and if Dial Antibacterial Sanitizer works as claimed it would be very beneficial.

Very good review. I love Dial products, and I didn't even know they had a product in the instant hand sanitizer market. I'd rather use one that leaves me with a little bit of moisture.

Good review, K. Ray. One reason why young children are not supposed to use it is that some have been known to lick it off their hands and become dangerously intoxicated. At a preschool or kindergarten in Tulsa, OK, a little girl's teacher called her parents and said their little girl was very sick. When her dad picked her up, she couldn't focus her eyes on him and could barely walk. He rushed her to the hospital and they started tests. Then the teacher came in and said the little girl had licked some good-smelling sanitizer off her hands. They checked her blood alcohol level and it was way over the legal limit. It takes so little to get a child drunk. I'm sure that applies to any brand.
