I was recently wed to my long time love in Denver this past August. The wedding was on a Saturday at the Denver Hyatt Regency in the Tech Center. Our guests arrived at 6:30pm and the ceremony began at 7:30pm.

One hour before the ceremony we had a cocktail party. Our guests ate cold hors d' oeuvres while mingling.

After the ceremony at 8:00pm, the hot hors d' oeuvres arrived. The drinks continued to roll out of the bar until the wedding reception ended at midnight.

We decided to have an open bar for beer, wine, and our signature drinks. Two signs, coordinating with the colors of our wedding, were placed on each end of the bar for our guests to read.

After the wedding I was told by many invitees that they absolutely loved the drinks featured. Most of them had never heard of the concoctions before, and were very pleased by how tasty they were.

The four signature drinks are listed below.

Brides Drinks

Razmataz!

- 2 oz Raspberry Vodka

- 4 oz Sierra Mist

- Splash of orange juice

- Pour ingredients into a highball glass over ice and stir.

- Garnished with one raspberry and an orange slice through a toothpick.

Sealed With a Kiss

- 2 oz Chocolate Liqueur (Godiva or Crème de Cacao)

- 1½ oz Vanilla Vodka

- Mix with ice in a shaker.

- Strain ingredients into a chilled martini glass.

- Place a Heresy's Kiss at the bottom.

Grooms Drinks

Ultimate Screwdriver

- 2 oz Smirnoff Orange Vodka

- 5 oz Orange Juice

- Pour ingredients into a collins glass over ice and stir.

- Garnish with an orange slice.

Hot Romance

- 1½ oz Rum

- 2 oz Cranberry Juice

- 2 oz Orange Juice

- Pour ingredients into an old fashioned glass over ice and stir.

- Garnish with an orange slice.

A lot of people are hesitant with having alcohol served all night at their wedding. Many people feeling like guest will get too wasted and cause a scene.

I recommend having a cocktail party theme throughout your wedding if the wedding is adults only, at night, and does not last more than six hours. I followed these three rules and there were no problems at my wedding. Everyone had an amazing time!
