Nigella Lucy Lawson was born on January 6, 1960, to Nigel Lawson and Vanessa Salmon. She is known as the author of How to Eat, and How to Be a Domestic Goddess. But Nigella Lawson's life has not always been carefree; she has had her fair share of tragedy in her short life. Her mother died of liver cancer while she was in her forties, and her sister, Thomasina, died of breast cancer in her thirties. But perhaps the hardest death to deal with of all was that of her first husband, John Diamond, who died of throat cancer in 2001, leaving her with two children to raise on her own.

I love it when women are in their healthy weight range and refuse to become super-skinny simply to be more "appealing." Good for Nigella Lawson!
