When it comes to buying toys, one of the sites I've started doing some early shopping on is Santa's Workshop.
My 3-year-old daughter has certain toys she loves playing with; many of them are supposed to be for children much older than her. So, I get really turned off when I'm on the site of a larger store and have to find toys for her by searching an age range or trying to figure out exactly what category it falls under. The thing I love about Santa's Workshop is the fact I can find her toys right on the site by name rather than having to search.
For example, one of the things she's really into right now is Dora the Explorer. I was able to find a category for this right away. More importantly, this section of the store is huge. I was able to find everything from Dora toys I've seen at my local Wal-mart to Dora dolls I didn't even know existed.
Of course, if you don't see an item, Santa's Workshop does still give you the option to do a search for it. I've just never have had to use it.
Price wise, Santa's Workshop is pretty competitive. In fact, on many of the items I looked at, they list prices from several other sites just so I can make sure I'm getting the best deal.
The only complaint I would have about the site is the fact some of the items don't have that detailed of a description by them. This isn't a huge deal because they normally show a picture of what's included and I can always use Google to look it up. But, it would make things a bit more convenient.
I've ordered a couple items already and found the shipping was reasonable and quick. I ordered a couple of the Dora toys and they were delivered two days later by UPS. I've been to larger stores that were unable to do that for me.
