The NBC his sitcom Heroes had a stunningly large number of major and minor characters die within the first season, emphasizing the perilous nature of a world in which individuals have extraordinary abilities and power. Season 2 of Heroes will likely follow the same pattern of the first with numerous minor characters dying and a couple of major characters also dying.

Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) is in the show for the long haul. Of course, the most obvious clue for his longevity on the series is his name which echoes the shows title. His round, in a literary sense, character has quite a bit of development to go through as he discovers his destiny as a hero. His best friend Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee), who helps Hiro keep his focus, will likely die on the show leaving Hiro to grapple with his quest alone.

Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) will have a difficult time dying especially considering that he absorbs any power of any other hero in his vicintity. His greatest issue in season 2 and beyond will be how he reacts to the death of his brother. With an already mental state, his salvation from despair and guilt will be the strength of his heart and his capacity to love. More than likely, he will be saved by his love for his new found niece Claire Bennet and possibly romantic love for another coming character. Though he may once again attempt to sacrifice himself to save the world, thus redeeming himself.

Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) is nearly invincible with her ability to heal but her vulnerabilities will be in her newly strengthened love for her father, Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman), and desire to protect him as he protected her. She will likely get tangled up in any mess that her uncle Peter Petrelli gets into as he redeems himself from his brother's death.
