Oprah Winfrey may have previously been the queen of daytime-TV talk shows, but she's either now tied with or replaced by Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen is a daytime talk show that airs on many different stations country-wide. Ellen's humor and charm are just two small factors that capture viewers of her show.

Ellen's talk show is nothing like other talk shows, and that is certainly a delight. Every episode of Ellen begins with the entire audience dancing. Then Ellen moves into a monologue that is not only enjoyable, but also funny. There's comedic gold in being a stand-up comedian hosting a daytime talk show.

Every monologue end with Ellen saying how much she loves music and dancing. Ellen then dances through the audience while the audience dances along. A favorite gimmick of hers is when she dances over the coffee table in front of her chairs.

There are guests on Ellen, just like on any talk show. However, her day time talk show is less like Oprah or Dr. Phil and more like Jay Leno moved into the daytime. Movie stars, funny children, amazing animals, and heroes come to visit with Ellen. She may put them up to all kinds of things, one never knows.

Ellen also usually has some type of surprise waiting for her amazing guests. Sometimes her celebrity guests are pleasantly surprised by her gifts. Other times they are completely flabbergasted by them. Even other times Ellen surprises them with the fact that they have donated money to charity.

Guests in the past have included Robin Williams, Selma Hayek, Pamela Anderson, and Kanye West. In addition to special guests, Ellen also has special segments on her show that usually run on certain days. These may be pictures from people, Ellen answering e-mail questions, videos found on the Internet, Ellen making phone calls to famous people or any person, or a variety of anything else Ellen wants to do.

Ellen also routinely has contests with her audience. She is usually extremely generous (or should I say "DeGenerous") with her prizes, often allowing all players to win, no matter what. Some examples of these have been quiz show spoofs, humdinger, and dancing contests.
