One of NBC's hit comedies, Scrubs, is going to be back for the fall. So far viewers have been able to follow hapless medical residents into their careers and personal lives.

The majority of the action is Scrubs is narrated by John Dorian's (J.D.'s) internal voice, often going into his odd daydreams. J.D., played by Zach Braff (Garden State, Blue Moon) is the show's main character. It often follows his career and life as well as that of all his friends and many of his coworkers.

J.D.'s best friend is Christopher Turk played by Donald Faison (Clueless, Big Fat Liar). He is often referred to be his last name, Turk. He and J.D. tend to get into many odd situations and sometimes into trouble, but always find their way back into good graces by some means.

Turk is married to Nurse Carla Espinoza played by Judy Reyes (Dirty, King of the Corner). Carla obviously loves Turk and they have a baby together. She went through a time of deciding if being a stay-at-home mom was best or if she wanted to work. Ultimately, she ended up going back to work. Carla is also one of the nurses that is a head nurse and can actually tame Dr. Cox.

Dr. Perry Cox played by John C. McGinley (Are We Done Yet?, Wild Hogs) is probably best described as a "sarcastic bastard." Yet, somehow, J.D. really admires the man. All J.D. Has ever wanted to do is please Dr. Cox to where he would feel appreciated. Turk, being that he is a surgeon, would rather irritate Dr. Cox with his silly games.

Dr. Cox is married to Jordan Sullivan, played by Christa Miller (Clone High, The Drew Carey Show). She and Dr. Cox have a weird love/hate relationship that keeps them together.

Then, there's Dr. Eliot Reed played by Sarah Chalke (Cake, Awesometown) who despite her low self-esteem is smart and successful and has finally found true love.

J.D.'s constant nemesis in the show is The Janitor, played by Neil Flynn (Sex and Death, Joey). Although he appears in most episode, he has no other name than The Janitor. He constantly devises ways to torture J.D. Most are mainly ways to make J.D. freak out mentally rather than anything that would truly cause any damage. However, sometimes, damage to property is involved.
