Looking for something to do with your kids over the weekend? This is a top-ten list of the best things to do in fall.

10. Apple Picking
There are apple picking farms everywhere now and it gives you an opportunity to be outside for the day. It gets your kids out in nature and away from the TV. It is a great family activity and your kids will love running up and down rows of apples and picking their own. This is also a great idea to inspire your kids to eat fruit they are alto more likely to eat the food if they had some part in picking it or cooking it. Another fun idea is making candy or caramel apples when you get back home. They are easy to make and delicious.

9. Pumpkin Picking
Just like apple picking farms there are plenty of places where you and your kids can pick their own pumpkins. A good idea is to go pick your own then bring them back to the house and carve them. They have pumpkin carving knives in any CVS or Walgreen's that are safe for children use. They have a really dull blade. Remember to save the seeds when you are carving out the pumpkin, you can cook them and make your own pumpkin seeds.

8. Fairs
Fall is the season for outdoor festivities so why not be a part of them. Every area has their own fairs, bring your kids to them. They have kiddie rides and games and most have animals too. It is a great way to spend the day and your kids will look forward to it every year.

7. Making Leave Piles
This way you get your raking done and your kids have a blast. Have one pile already set up and let your kids jump in it, they will be more than willing to help you rake up more piles to jump in.

6. Sugar Cookies
Buy normal sugar cookies and get some leaf shaped cookie cutters. Have your own frosting and let your kids decorate. It is a tasty snack and they will have more fun making them than eating them.

5. Leaf Art
Once the leaves start falling have your kids collect some of their favorites. Bring them back inside and have them put computer paper over them. Then rub with different color crayons, you will have art reminding you of fall year round.
