I enjoy shopping for healthy snacks that will help to take tide me over until mealtimes. But with so many unhealthy snacks such as fat laden cakes and donuts on the market, there is a need to search deeper for healthier snacks that will not make you pile on the pounds as you tuck into another helping.

While out shopping last week, I came across Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisps by Nabisco. I have seen this product on the shelves before, but I have never paid a great deal of attention to it. But this time while shopping for snacks, I decided to see whether this might be a healthy snack.

I looked at the front of the packaging and saw that each pack contains just 100 calories, which made me want to buy this product. The price of Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisps by Nabisco was just $1.59 for a pack of 6, which works out to approximately $0.26 each. I decided that I should give this brand of snack a try.

When I got home, I took out a pack of Chip Ahoy! The first thing I noticed was how empty the 23g (0.81 oz) pack felt. When I opened it, I saw that at least half of the bag was empty. So customers are not really getting anywhere near 23g worth of product. I was disappointed about this, but when I tried the thin crisps I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Each crisp was thin with a small amount of chocolate chips on it. I liked the taste. It had a light, sugary taste and it was crispy. The crisps are baked, which gives them their crispy texture.

Here is a rundown of the nutrition facts:

Serving size 1 packet (23g)
Servings per container 6
Calories 100 Calories from fat 25
Total fat 3g
Saturated fat 1g
Trans fat 0g

Monounsaturated fat 1g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 140mg
Potassium 35mg
Total carbohydrate 18g

Iron 4%

The nutrition facts show that this product is low in calories and it only contains 1g of saturated fat, which is 5% of the daily recommended allowance. There are 7g of sugar in each serving, which would not be a good choice for diabetics, but in moderation it might be fine as an occasional treat.

I really can't seem to enjoy these, but I only like the chewy chips ahoy cookies, so maybe thats why. Great review though!

Thanks. I have been a bit suspicious of all these 100 calorie packs. I would rather eat a little of a really good dessert than a lot of a mediocre one.
