I was so confused and hurt when my union rep. came in the room and dogged me in front of management. Can you believe that i paid for this? I have never been written up and have been a good employee. I got hurt on the job and my job did nothing to help me. They sent me to workman's comp and they told me to take loratab and flexeril and go back to work. I sprained my back and could barely walk and they wanted me to go back to work. Because i couldn't, they denied my workman comp so my job tried to write me up and give me a warning for not being able to work after being injured on the job. I felt so alone and where was my union that i paid for?

NO WHERE!

Just taking my money and doing nothing. One had the nerve to come up to me and tell me that she heard what happened. The nerve of her! After that, i called corporate. My job didn't like that and when i got back to work, they started treated me bad. People in Management, that is. They tried to find anything on me to write me up. Then we had a training and they asked me how i felt about the plan. I spoke my mind and they gave me a final. I have never gotten written up, yet they all of a sudden decided i deserved a final. Where was my union?

Came in the room only to talk down to me in front of management and yell at me. I thought when you pay your dues, they were suppose to help you, not bash you in front of the management team!! Lesson learned hard. When you have a union rep. representing you and they work at your job, chances are, they are not going to fight for you because they want management to like them. Funny that this particular person was friends with this manager, who was rude to me in front of her staff. I went from a blood pressure of 107/70 to 150/100 from dealing with this company and their betraying union, which i paid for. I spoke up for myself the whole time the 2nd time we went into the room for the meeting.

The union rep. just sat there like he was a mute! He isn't so mute when he is collecting our dues, is he? I hope i can help someone out there before its too late. Just because you pay your union fee, doesn't mean they will really try to help you. They really don't care so whats the point of paying extra money out your check?

Unions Don't Always Help You

I wonder if unions can legally treat you this bad in las vegas?

I have been "in a union" before..I worked for 22 years at Continental tire in Charlotte N.C...they have since went over seas..but they have not helped us get any severance pay...the retired workers have to now pay for there insurance..so please..tell me..the Union is only after your money...
