When we play the tape to the end, and see what addiction does to others, can we note anything good coming from drug use? Perhaps we feel the peer pressures from another person. Or we battled our depression alone for years. Are these "friends" offering us drugs good people or do they just want our money? Will the drugs be the answer to our depressions?
We need to make the decisions to say no. We do this because we know the story of many drug addicts. Addicts run out of money, lose friends, end careers, and sometimes do all these things in a span of a year.
We likely have seen movies where drugs are a form of self-expression. The characters are different than normal people, and each has loads of fun. These are fictional stories; few of us successfully use drugs.
We go insane from drug addictions. What will the drug do to our bodies? We might become lazy and never exercise again. We could develop coughs or chest pains. We are dying in several ways: our minds are becoming paranoid and delusional, and our bodies is trying to survive the collapse. Drugs are not a solution to anything. We do not want our lives to end just because we snort a line or smoke a joint.
What if we become addicted? Beyond damage to our minds and bodies, drugs are expensive. If we become hooked on a drug we could spend thousands of dollars in weeks. That one hit we could cost us not only thousands of dollars but our lives, because And our minds will never be the same after those first hits. We will be on the pursuit of more drugs. We won't care about the health factors, the money problems, or what really matters in our lives.
Some of us are addicted for twenty years before we stop. Some of us never escape it--either we die or go to prison. We avoid a lot of pains by not picking up drugs. Before using drugs, we should consider how the drugs will affect our minds, bodies, and bank accounts.
