In the very first week of football season, the New York Jets coaches, players and fans were once again treated to side-line drama involving the New England Patriots Head Coach, Bill Belichick. Surprise! Surprise!

Belichick and the New England Patriots are facing possible disciplinary action because Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella was filming the New York Jets defensive coaches in attempts to decipher the play calling decisions made by the Jets. An NFL security guard confiscated the camera.

Fans are awaiting a decision from the National Football League commissioner, Roger Goodell. According to SI.com, sources say the decision could come as early as Friday.

A lot of speculation is pointed at the commissioner punishing Belichick as well as the New England Patriots franchise. Some sources report that commissioner Goodell is taking into consideration that Belichick needs to be disciplined personally, as he could leave the Patriots organization at any time.

Belichick maintains his silence on the issue, stating he will "make a comment when it's over."

The New England head coach did confirm that he spoke to NFL commissioner Goodell "about a video taping procedure during last Sunday's game and my interpretation of the rules."

In light of commissioner Goodell's recent commitment to his personal conduct policy, let us hope that Bill Belichick does not get off on a technicality like his "interpretation of the rules." With recent suspensions handed out to "Pacman" Jones, Tank Johnson, and Michael Vick, can the NFL allow Bill Belichick to cheat without some form of disciplinary action?

Are coaches not the leader of a team? The buck stops with the man in charge, and in the case of the New England Patriots, the man is Bill Belichick.

"PACMAN" Jones, Tank Johnson, Michael Vick.....All Black players made to pay for their sins. Belichick....White Superbowl winning head coach.....Obviously above the law. It is 2007 and White America still cannot see the impact of skin color over actions. I guess OJ's equital makes up for this double standard.
