Fall TV: Bet Style
The fall season on Black Entertainment Television (BET) is just one big extension of summer. The hot shows are just a continuance of what we've been seeing over the past month or several years. And overall - people are loving it. Let me give you a break down of the good stuff.
Take the Cake. Almost everyone enjoys a good game show because it's a chance for the little man to win big cash and prizes. It also offers most people their only opportunity at 15-minutes of fame without it being related to some type of crime or stupid act. Take
the Cake is hosted by Toccara (America's Top Model Participant) and Joe Clair (Rap City). They bring a bit of humor and ghetto-fabulousness to the show that makes it differ from mainstream TV. Also, it's interactive and players can call, text and log-in to participate. A potential winner must be a great clue solver and be up on their black history and black celebrities. It's a lot of fun and the latest show airs September 14 at 11:00 p.m.
Meet the Faith. Dr. Ian Smith was first introduced to the world through his books on fitness which landed him a hot spot as one of the consultants on Celebrity Fit Club. Meet the Faith is his latest venture and reveals a different side to him - his concern for the black community. On this talk show, he sits down with other celebrities and talks about different topics that effect the black community from finances to education. He tries to bring a wide perspective on every issue while adding in his own two-cents. The talk is lively and informative. It's a great show for anyone to watch who's trying to resolve a problem or understand how diverse opinions can be amongst blacks. You can tune in on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The new show on September 16 focuses on dramatic transformations.
