Pumpkin Run 2007 in Owensville, Ohio

Fall is on the way as the festivals begin. Explore the back roads and small towns while the turning leaves provide the perfect driving routes in your classic car. Head east from Cincinnati to the small town of Owensville Ohio. The Clermont County fairgrounds is host to the 32nd annual Pumpkin Run Nationals Presented by Fastiques Rod and Customs.

The drive through the back country roads is a show in itself. You pass classic cars and trucks coming and going all weekend while you drive on the east side of Cincinnati. Hotel parking lots and restaurants become gathering places before and after the show for the cruisers.

The Police presence is heavy to ensure safety and assist in traffic management in and out of the show. I don't mind sitting in heavy traffic watching classic cars slowly cruising by, it's a traffic jam that provides entertainment for the car enthusiasts.

Find those hard to locate parts at the show. The outer area of the fairgrounds is lined with vendors selling parts and accessories for your classic. Local Vendors will be able to answer your questions about restoration and hard to find parts.

The Pumpkin Run is a local favorite every year as the locals and visitors enjoy the hotrods and classics. Its not open to any year or model. What makes the Pumpkin Run different than a lot of other car shows ,only 1970 and older year cars are allowed to register. That doesn't mean that the show is small by any means. The fairgrounds are always packed with old classics from gate to gate.

The show runs the first weekend every October, falling on Oct 5th, 6th , and 7th. The Pumpkin Run Nationals is a family friendly event. Entry fee for spectators is only $5.00 for adults and children 12 and under are free.
