When planning you party the first thing is to create a time line. Decide when you want to have the party. Give yourself at least one month to get your supplies and decorations, and to get your invites sent out. Plan to send your invitations out at least two weeks ahead of time so that everyone will have a chance to receive them and make plans to attend.
After planning your time line make an invitation list. You can get the addresses as you go, but you will want to have most everyone accounted for so you know how many people you will be expecting while planning the location, and the supplies.
Once you have your date, pick a location. Location can sometimes be everything. Consider how many quests you plan on having. You want to make sure that you will have enough space. You definitaly don't want to have it in your living room if you are expecting thirty guests to show up. You also want it to be local for the sake of your clients as well as it being indoors. If it's to far, they are likely not to come, especially if the weathers ends up being a problem. It's best to pick the location before the theme, that way you will be able to pick your theme according to your location and space.
