It seems people either love or hate the Donatos...or love to hate them.

It doesn't take much browsing of Big Brother 8 sites on the Internet before one reads a slew of complaints about "Evel Dick" Donato. I've heard Dick described as repulsive, cruel, immature, foul, abusive and the list goes on. His 21-year-old daughter Daniele has been equally criticized for her complaining within the Big Brother house.

I usually just ignore the Donato haters. In my opinion, the haters aren't truly appreciating the brilliant strategic game the father-and-daughter pair has played, landing them in the final two positions.

There have been a few times this season when I have pleaded to Dick through my TV to keep his mouth shut. Most notably when Dustin was evicted after he volunteered to be put up as a pawn against ED. Dick did indeed remain quiet as Dustin said his goodbyes to the other houseguests.

I do honestly believe all the foul insults that have spewed from Dick's mouth have been strategic. I've watched, fascinated, as Dick and Daniele have perfected their good cop/bad cop routine, which Zach bought hook, line and sinker two weeks ago. Perhaps the most brilliant move of this season was when Daniele burst into the head of household room to tearfully confess to the other houseguests that it hurt her feelings when she was judged based on her father's actions.

Head games aside, Dick and Daniele have dominated in the HOH and power of veto competitions, with Daniele tying all-star Janelle for POV wins. Yet, many Big Brother fans insist D&D don't deserve to be in the final two.

I'm sure my analysis of the Donatos' game isn't going to win me any points with those who were rooting for Zach to win the final HOH competition, but let's put aside the game for a second.
