Shot in the infamous "bad side" of Vancouver, British Columbia, the most anticipated new show on The CW, the child of parent networks The WB and UPN, as it enters its second year this fall, is without a doubt Reaper, the show that has already proven to be easily the most bizarrely unique new series this season. Starring Bret Harrison, famous for his roles on past FOX sitcoms Grounded For Life and The Loop, this wacky mix of action, comedy, drama, and the supernatural featuring a slacker of a 21-year-old college dropout as its lead character was actually the brainchild of two not male, but female producers, Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, partners that had worked together previously on several other show, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Law & Order: SVU, and The X-Files. Thrown into the pit against NBC's reality hits The Biggest Loser and The Singing Bee, along with FOX's highest-rated scripted show House, ABC's Dancing With the Stars results show, and CBS's returning perennial The Unit, Reaper will be up against heavy competition in the 9:00 Tuesday night timeslot, but for The CW, its success is a necessity.
