But...you want to know what you can do in a place called Brevard, right? You just took a break from reading this and went to search the net to find out where exactly it's located. You found out that it is located in a county called Transylvania, and now you are thinking...maybe not. But don't judge without knowing. Keep reading.
What can you do there? Well, that is only limited by your imagination, I suppose.
It is located near the Pisgah National Forest, so the obvious first answer would be a ton of outdoor activities. You name it really. Mountain biking, horseback riding, inner tubing, fishing, hiking, camping, swimming, hunting, etc. They are all available. Also, the forest road will take you past a scenic waterfall, past the Cradle of Forestry, and straight up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, where you will find more camping, hiking, etc, along with beautiful views and a very scenic drive.
The Pisgah Forest is not the only place around Brevard to experience the outdoors. There are a few state parks that can also provide lots of outdoor entertainment, a bike/walking trail near town, a very peaceful nature park near the library, and if you want even more excitement, there is whitewater rafting on the North French Broad river.
