There's a new crime fighter in town and she sharply resembles something out of the movie AI. On September 26, a new show will hit the airways by storm. The new show, Bionic Woman, is being touted as the Fall Must Watch show of the season, but will it really live up to those expectations?

After having watched the preview of the new series Bionic Woman, I am a little more than intrigued by the story line. The producers followed the general story line of the traditional Bionic Woman, with, of course, many changes for the advancements of technology.

The storyline for the series Bionic Woman is simple enough. The main character Jaime Sommers is involved in a massive car accident and her scientist boyfriend decides to help save her life by rebuilding her with bionic parts. When Sommers finds out, she is less than happy but later decides to use these extraordinary gifts for the betterment of the people.

What I found to be disheartening about the show, was the inclusion of a rouge bionic woman. The first of her kind, she has decided to take the evil road and proves to be a smart antagonist in the series. While I follow the general Bionic Woman storyline quite easily, I fail to understand how this rouge character will play into the series on a regular basis. And, if she is quickly brushed under the rug, how will there be anyone to ever match up to the new and improved Bionic Woman?

My predictions are simple and straight to the point for this series. I believe the series will gather a cult following of sorts. All of the old Bionic Woman fans will watch religiously, but the series will soon change time slots to a far less prime space and be canceled within a year.

Takeaways
  • The Bionic Woman is rebuilt by her scientist boyfriend.
  • The antagonist in the series is another Bionic Woman.

What I don't get is the incredible shocking violence of this program. I remember the old show with Lindsay Wagner. It was one of my favorite shows. This is not true to the original. They would never have shown such extreme violence, blood and gore in the first Bionic Woman. They also would never have rated it TV 14. This is acceptable for 14 year olds? Seriously?

for those of us who are true fans of the 70's bonic woman will agree that this new one will not hold light to the first one. The orginal Jamie Summers had a bonic ear not an eye Steve Austin had the bonic eye.

I don't know if they can top the original. I had the Bionic Woman doll. I guess they would call it an action figure now. LOL!
