Homemade Home Warming Gift Number One: Candied Spoons Bouquet
Items that you will need:
1. Spoons
2. Hard candies
3. Oven
4. Ribbon
5. Colored plastic cling (optional)
6. Cookie sheet
Directions:
1. The first thing you will need to do is to buy your supplies for this project. To find inexpensive metal spoons look in the housewares department of a department store like Wal-mart. Here you can find generic spoons for $1 or $2 for a bunch of 4. You can select how many spoons you want in your bouquet between 4 and 12. The hard candies that you buy should reflect the tastes of the gift’s recipient. If they are diabetic, or on a diet, look for sugar free hard candies. The colored plastic wrap is optional, but it can add a color and a designer flare to your bouquet for just a few dollars.
2. Wash and dry the spoons before you apply the candies. You don’t know how many people have handled them.
3. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
4. Place spoons on a cookie sheet.
5. Place one hard candy on each spoon.
6. Heat the spoons in the oven until the candies have melted. 5 to 10 minutes. Be sure to watch so that the candies don’t over-melt and slide off the spoons. Slightly under melted is preferable to overmelted. If you want just wait until the candies have softened and then press onto the spoon.
7. Remove from the over and allow to cool.
8. After the spoons have cooled wrap in colored plastic wrap and tie with a ribbon bow.
9. Arrange spoon bouquet and tie with another ribbon bow.
