Trying new make up products has become one of my latest hobbies. When I noticed that my local department store had Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation on sale for half the price that it normally sells for, I decided that I had to give it a chance.

Products On Sale Are Not Always a Bargain

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation was a nightmare.

When I first applied the foundation, I used my fingers, and the very first thing I noticed about the makeup was the consistency. It reminded me of marshmallow fluff. When I put the foundation on my face, it was noticeably uneven looking and refused to set well. I decided to start over and use a cosmetic sponge for my next attempt. Using a makeup wedge did not make much of a difference. Once the foundation was on, it was flaky and cakey, and despite Maybelline's claims, the foundation settled into every fine line and pore on my face.

Because I am pale, I sometimes run into problems with foundation shades being too dark. I bought Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in the lightest shade, Light Ivory. Since it was the lightest color available, I anticipated very few problems. Needless to say I was surprised when my face took on a sick shade of yellow from applying the foundation. It's a great makeup if you want to look jaundiced.

Before I completely gave up on Maybelline, I did try one last thing. I tried using a primer before applying the foundation, but I was still left with problems. The makeup did not set very well and became flaky.

Pretty Little Package and Price

Maybelline knows how to market their cosmetics. The packaging and price are great motivators for buying this product. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse is packaged in a small, round glass jar. It takes up very little space, and the jar can be recycled. The jar holds .64 ounces of foundation. You can find Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse at your local department store. When not on sale, prices are still very affordable and vary between $8.00 - $9.00.

Good review. We can save ourselves a bit of money if we check these reviews out. I love new makeup but it is expensive and one never knows what might be good.

I'm glad you reviewed this product. I don't like thick and heavy makeup.
