The Tokyo Game Show is an annual event held in Chiba, Japan that shows off the best and brightest games of the future (mainly from Japanese game developers and publishers). This year's event will be held from September 20th to September 23rd. Here's a preview of what to expect from all three videogame powerhouses (Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony) at the show.

Microsoft
The Xbox 360 doesn't offer much appeal to Japanese consumers. Fortunately this doesn't stop Microsoft from trying to make an impact in the market.

Ninja Gaiden 2, the highly anticipated sequel to what many consider the best 3D action game ever, will make an appearance. We will get to see some gameplay of this behemoth at the show. Ace Combat 6 will be another big title that will be shown in some form.

On the RPG side, the Xbox 360 will have two exclusive games being shown in Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery. At least Lost Odyssey will be playable on the show.

On the Xbox LIVE Arcade side, two cult classics in Rez and Ikaruga as well as others will be present. Rez will have enhanced HD graphics.

That's pretty much it as exclusive games go. Halo 3 will be there but it's not as popular in Japan (or the rest of the world) as it is in America.

Nintendo
Nintendo won't be at the Tokyo Game Show. They never attend the show except once when they showed off the Wii. Luckily, third parties will be there showing off their Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii games.

Square Enix will be showering the DS with plenty of love in the form of Dragon Quest IX, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 and It's A Wonderful World.

Things are hazy on the Nintendo Wii side. Capcom will be showing Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles as well as Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. Not much otherwise. Hopefully there will be a couple of RPG surprises here and there.

Sony
With Microsoft's limited showing and Nintendo's no show, the Tokyo Game Show will be Sony's to lose. The Playstation 3 will have over forty titles playable at the show. That includes LittleBigPlanet (hopefully, they will show the enemies) and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
