Rich Mullins: Madeline's Song

On September 18th, Madeline's Song by Rich Mullins will be released, free of charge by B& H Publishing Group. Rich Mullins, who wrote Awesome God, wrote Madeline's Song for the daughter of author, James Bryan Smith. The rare live version of the song, Madeline's Song will be released on the B&H Publishing Group website, just one day before the tenth anniversary of Rich Mullins passing. Rich Mullins was killed in a car accident on September 19, 1997 and his passing left a great sadness in the Christian music world.

Rich Mullins was clearly one of Christian music's premier songwriters and when listening to his music, you could feel his love, awe, and reverence for God. Rich Mullins did not seek after money, fame, and fortune. He spent his musical gifting serving others, and only received a small salary from his music sales. His generous heart and charitable spirit also endeared him to many children, like that of Madeline, whom Madeline's song is named.

Madeline Smith, daughter of James Bryan Smith was born with a severe handicap and several birth defects. The author, James Bryan Smith lost his precious daughter, Madeline, close friend, Rich Mullins, and his mother within months. Self reflected, his book, Room of Marvels, tells the grief stricken journey of Christian writer, "Tim Hudson" and how he deals with the tragic loss of his loved ones, and overwhelming grief to find his faith again.

Room of Marvels is being re-released and in honor of the publication, B&H Publishing Group is giving away 750 free downloads of Rich Mullins, Madeline's Song on their website. If you visit the website, Room of Marvels, you will hear a preview of the song, and can learn more about author James Bryan Smith, his story, and Madeline.

There is an excerpt where you can preview the story, and I am sure that you will be impressed with James Bryan Smith's similarity to C.S. Lewis in writing style. You can read a sample chapter here: Room of Marvels Chapter 3

I just downloaded my free copy of Madeline's Song by Rich Mullins. Remember, there are only 750 downloads available, so I am not sure how many are left. Just click on any of the links to visit the Room of Marvels website, then select, "Madeline's Song" and you will be able to download from there. Also, last night I visited The Legacy website which discusses Rich Mullins work that he began with the Navajo youth, it is quite fascinating.

I hate when Microsoft Word changes words on me. The last sentence is, "With that revelation comes hope and healing!"
