It was my first day at work. I was so nervous. When I went in for the interview, I was mesmerized by the beautiful offices and the killer scenery. My first day had finally come, and I was both scared and happy.

I went inside the building and everything was immaculate. I signed-in at the front desk, then took the elevator up to my floor. Wow. My first day at a new job (that couldn't possibly be worse than my old job) and I would finally be oppression free. I tried to walk through the glass doors, but they were locked. I looked at my watch, and the time said "7:45." Hmmm...how would I get in? Was I really hired? Right before I started freaking out, I noticed how there was a back way into the office. I went down the corridor, and noticed a sign that said "ring bell for assistance." Obediently enough, I was about to ring the doorbell when a lady whizzed past me, scanned her finger in some biometric scanner, and opened the door for me.

"Thanks!" I told her, as I walked through the door with her. "My name is Rochelle," she said. "Nice to meet you, Rochelle. My name is Annita, and I look forward to working with you soon" I said as she led me into the Human Resource (HR) Manager's office.

[Note: all names, numbers, and sometimes titles have been changed to protect the innocent.]

"Annita?" Shary, the Human Resources Manager, asked. I confirmed that I was indeed "Annita," and she asked me to walk with her to meet Charlie. We met Charlie and then she escorted me to my brand new office. Wow. What an office! Everything was in the perfect place and in perfect condition, that it hardly seemed like an advertising agency office (with particle board furniture, obscure modern art prints, and swank light fixtures), but like a banker's office with real cherry mahogany furniture, ship anchor paintings, and miniature vessels all around. Though it had all these cheesy nautical decorations, I could make do with them. I didn't care if I had little ships or little onions rings and cheese nips decorating my office since I HAD AN OFFICE NOW so I didn't care.
