One of the most popular animated shows for the past three years on the
Disney Channel, Kim Possible: So The Drama has the distinction of being the first full length original animated
movie produced by the
Disney Channel. But what makes this
movie a wonderful choice for a
family movie night? Kim Possible is just your average teenage girl worried about school, her spot as captain of the Middleton School Cheerleading Squad and saving the world every now and then. It started out as a mistake when someone interpreted her website advertising her babysitting services and "I can do anything" literally, propelling her into a part-time
career as a crimefighter with her best friend Ron Stoppable and his naked mole rat Rufus by her side. Thwarting evil plans left and right this redhead manages to not only save the world but also make it
home for
dinner - most nights! Kim Possible: So The Drama starts off with the usual - an attempt by Shego, a partner-in-crime with Dr. Drakken, to kidnap Mr. Nakasumi the Japanese toy genius off of a float in a parade in Tokyo. Saved at the last minute by some daring moves, the toy designer loses only his jacket as Kim and Ron sweep him to safety. But what exactly was behind this kidnap plot in the first place? Dr. Drakken is an old foe of Kim's, having actually gone to school with her father - Dr. Possible. But while his collegue went on to become a rocket scientist, marry a brain surgeon and raise a family, Drew Lipsky turned evil and now wants to take over the world. And he just might succeed this time, because Kim has no idea what's going on. And in the middle of trying to figure out Drakken's
new scheme she has to deal with a variety of personal crises that might change her life forever. The first is the upcoming Prom and she's without a date. There's a cute
new guy in her life, Eric who drives a motorcycle and isn't intimidated by her whirlwind life who might just ask her to the biggest dance of the year. But Ron's been her best friend since Pre-K and he's dealing with his own heartbreak - his favorite restaurant, Bueno Nacho, has just been sold to a
new owner who's handing out childrens'
toys and changing the menu! Now she's got to deal with his jealous reaction to her
new boyfriend, Drakken and Shego's diabolical scheme and getting ready for the Prom - what's a girl to do when her motto is "I can do anything"? This
film is a great way to spend the evening with
friends and family, no matter what their ages. The animation is crisp and up to the
Disney standard, with special CGI effects added in to create a viewing experience that will stay in your mind's eye long after the
movie has finished. But the technical aspects are only one part of what makes this
movie a good DVD rental or an excellent investment for your
home library. Kim Possible has become one of the most popular female characters on the
Disney Channel because of her attitude and her reaction to anything and everything. From having to babysit her twin brothers (and take them on a mission to the Amazon Rainforest) to defending her leadership of the cheerleading squad by selling
chocolate bars (traded in
exchange to a black marketer for information on a rogue golfer) Kim proves over and over again her
family motto - Anything is Possible for a Possible. Her partner, Ron Stoppable, is a loyal and dedicated friend who's always there for her - as long as he can get something to
eat at Bueno Nacho afterwards! When he's not doing his bit as Team Mascot for the Middleton Mad Dogs he's dealing with being unpopular at school even as he hangs out with one of the most popular girls - Kim. Add in his best friend and pet, the naked mole rat Rufus and you have a trio that not only can and has saved the world but a friendship that surpasses description. This is the fourth Kim Possible DVD, the previous three being The Villain Files, The Secret Files and A Sitch in Time - all containing episodes of this popular series. All the DVDs include special added features, from
music videos to interactive features. KP: So The Drama on DVD not only has the
movie but a
music video featuring the voice of Kim Possible, the popular
teen music and
television star Christy Carlson Romano. Hot
teen idol Jessie McCartney also contributes his own
music video for his
new single "Get Your Shine On". As well as these two
music extras you also receive a viewing of "Gorilla Fist", a previously unaired episode along with deleted scenes that never made it into the final
movie shown on The
Disney Channel. All these
extras make this DVD a great way to spend more than just a few hours in front of the
television set. This
movie would be a welcome addition to any family's DVD collection, no matter what the ages involved. With the high animation standards that have become synonomous with the word Disney, So The Drama is sure to become one of the company's classic films over time. Why not check out this
Disney Channel original creation and see if you agree that "She can do anything"?
