The Emmy Awards Roots Tribute
Very Deserving
Kudos to the Emmy's for taking time to show the Emmy award winning Roots, and some of their stars. This was the best moment of the show. There can not be a better moment. I wish a bit more time was given to the stars of Roots that showed up for this Emmy's. The stars played a part not only in mini series, but a documentuary on American history. Never forget. It was a horrible time in our history, and it's good to know our history so as not to repeat it in any way.
I loved Roots, mainly because of Chicken George. He was the one who did get freedom as the Bastard child, but he also had to leave his family due to laws, at that time. Ben V, God bless him. I saw him recently, and know he is 'no spring chicken' anymore'. And John Amos, as the adult Kunte Kinte, is great- but he had his fight., and he would no longer be remembered from ' Good Times'.
Roots needs to be on TV every year, on stations that are not cable. This is a series that everyone should get to see every yr. It was done well, with great actors and has alot of meaning, historically. Just my 2 cents.
