A speech is a way of expressing yourself in front of others. No matter what the speech is going to be about, you need some type of plan to go along with it. It is better if you know when you will be going up in front of everyone and if you practice it over and over.
A speech should not be put off until the last minute, this will only cause you to run out of time and this time could be spent on putting the final touches on it. I changed my speech over and over until I nearly gave up but I had made commitment and I wasn't about to make myself look like a fool in front of all those people.
There are a few questions that you should ask yourself before writing the speech and you might want to jot these questions down and then write the answers to them underneath. Asking yourself questions and finding the answers, will prepare you to write your speech and it may even help you to have a better understanding for the reason behind the speech.
The questions are simply asked but you may need to search for the answers. Here are the questions that you should always ask yourself before writing the speech.
1. What is my purpose for this speech?
2. What do I want to gain from this?
3. Why do I feel the way that I do about this subject?
4. How can this help the reason that you are there?
These are basic questions that a lot of people will forget to ask. The questions are meant to guide you in the writing process. A speech should be no longer than three to five minutes and should include details that get right to the point. A longer speech might lose the audiences interest and then they will become board.
