Product Review: Keebler Sandies Shortbread Fudge Drops
Is This a Cookie Worth Breaking Your Diet For?
Price
The cookies are small, as cookies go; perhaps a little bigger than a silver dollar. The package is rather small and the contents weigh only 9.5 oz, which is about 40 cookies according to the package. My husband, who is not a chocoholic but loves most things sweet, brought them home Saturday night under the guise of "getting something for the grand girls" who we were keeping for the weekend. I knew better, but wisely kept my thoughts to myself. He purchased them at the corner mini-mart, the one most of us alternately love and hate. Walmart's price was $2.50 for the package. That seems rather pricey, given the size of both the cookies and the package. However, when I gave it more thought while writing this review, I decided that the price didn't seem so bad, after all. If you stick to the suggested serving size of 4 cookies, you get 10 servings for 25cents a serving. With the way prices have escalated and when you consider the amount most of us spend for items like Starbucks's lattes and frappuchinos, the cost of the cookies per serving actually seems downright frugal.
Taste
My husband has declared them delicious. That could be because I usually keep him on fat-free, sugar-free everything. Cookies made with Splenda are usually good, but when he has eaten them exclusively for awhile and then eats cookies made with sugar, he is in cookie heaven. Before writing this review, I of course, had to sample the product and I agree with my husband. If you like shortbread and fudge, Keebler Sandies Shortbread Fudge Drops are very good. The shortbread is light and has just enough sweetness to it. It is a very good base for the dark chocolate center which really does melt in your mouth. Keebler has not been stingy with the chocolate, which is something that is very important to a chocoholic. I would certainly recommend these cookies for taste.
