The standout track on the album is Feels Good. The track is a well put together neo-soul song. The track has that feeling and emotion that neo-soul used to have early in the genre. When you listen to a song like this you get such a strong positive feeling in your mind. Rashaan's vocals seem to just float above the track. The track features a great bridge, catchy chorus and several musical drops throughout the track. This is one of the better R&B songs of the year.
Stop Breaking My Heart is another great R&B tracks. The beat just flows beautifully together. The vocals fit with the song perfectly and the live instrumentation just makes the track stand out even more. The acoustic guitar throughout the track is just amazing. The song builds perfectly into a highly enjoyable listening situation.
Oh Lord (Take Me Back) sounds as if it came straight from a church revival meeting. The song has all the aspects of the Motown sound encompassed in a song. If this song does not make you feel something than you need to check your pulse.
Higher from the start of the song just hits you without you even knowing what is happening. The song features a classic hit and organs throughout the song. The lyrics are hard to understand as the beat is so hard hitting. Make sure you turn the volume before you start listening to this song.
Stars is a beautiful song to finish out the album. The song features a beautiful string section and lyrics which reflect the meaning of the song. The song sounds similar to mid 90's Michael Jackson ballads. The level of vocal mastery and production on this track is stellar.
Cloud 9 seems to try to channel some of Stevie Wonder's '70s-period of music, including Superstition. Yet it just doesn't fit with the whole theme of the album. It also just is not as good as Superstition.
