a Tale of Two Brothers: Fall TV Preview of Heroes

"You saved the cheerleader, so we could save the world." So said Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) before the epic conclusion to last season's groundbreaking show, NBC's Heroes. As the shows much sought after second season quickly approaches, fans await to have many of their anticipated questions answered. One such question on the minds of almost every Heroes fan is what was the fate of Peter and Nathan Petrelli?

When we last left off, Nathan had flown his brother up into the sky before Peter could let out a deadly explosion within New York City. After the show ended, fans were left dumbfounded and searching for clues as to what the possible fates of these two iconic and popular heroes may have been. Was Peter in fact able to regenerate after the explosion, thanks to absorbing Claire Bennet's ability to regenerate? And if so, how was Nathan able to survive his brothers explosion? Are the Petrelli brothers in fact dead?

Throughout the summer, as many fans let loose the possibilities of the Petrelli brothers destiny, the anticipated trailer for the second season was released on NBC's official Heroes website, and viewers got a chance to witness some very exciting yet confusing scenes with Nathan and Peter. One scene showed a very upset and down on his luck Nathan, who was living alone, covered in dirt, and bearing a scruffy and beat up goatee. In another scene, we see Peter handcuffed to a door in what seems to be a basement. These scenes confirm the Petrelli brothers presence, yet how and why did they get where they are? Can we expect to see Nathan and Peter anytime soon when the second season starts? From what the descriptions say and what Heroes creator Tim Kring says, the answer is yes. Fans and newcomers can expect to see the outcomes of both Nathan and Peter resolved as well as the fate of Matt Parkman, the officer who can read minds and who traveled to New York to stop Sylar, the super powered villain of the show who killed other heroes to steal their powers. He also went to New York City to stop the bomb along with the other Heroes. In the encounter with Sylar, Matt was shot four times with his own bullets after Sylar stopped them in mid-air.
