How to Find Cheap Apartments in Morristown, New Jersey

Morristown is a major town in Northern New Jersey, with a population of just under 19,000. Morristown boasts a largely suburban atmosphere with the added benefits of numerous trendy restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs. It's kind of a city away from the City. It is a popular place to live
for individuals and couples who work in the surrounding areas of Northern New Jersey, as well as New York City, which is just about an hour away by train. Here is a guide on how to find cheap apartments in Morristown, New Jersey.

A good place to start looking for cheap apartments in Morristown, New Jersey, is to begin checking the local papers. The Morris County Star-Ledger is an excellent resource. In Northern New Jersey, it's usually best to sacrifice space for cleanliness and location. If you are moving to Morristown from a place with cheaper rental rates, plan on slimming down and dumping some of your stuff, or placing things in storage. Even if you are receiving a boost in income, keep in mind that just about everything is more expensive in Northern New Jersey. Find a cheap apartment that will allow you some spare money to leave the apartment once in awhile, to enjoy all of Morristown's fine restaurants and cafes.

Once you have scouted the local papers, check online. Websites like move.com and Craigslist often have attractive listings that you won't be able to find any place else. Keep in mind that many landlords in Morristown require a credit check and a month and a half security deposit. If you have bad credit or no credit, you might consider seeking a private landlord rather than renting directly from a complex. Also keep in mind that even a cheap apartment may not seem so cheap once you pay your first month's rent, along with a month and a half security deposit.

I totally agree about it being best to sacrifice space for cleanliness and location. I had a great experience sharing a house with roommates when I lived in Seattle, and I found them through Craigslist. Craigslist is awesome. Great article!
