Homemade Frankenstein Mask for Halloween
Frankenstein masks are a fun way for kids and adults to dress up for Halloween. Kids and adults can make this homemade Frankenstein mask for Halloween. No sewing machine is involved, but you will be using scissors, so little kids may need help!
You can easily transform this homemade Frankenstein mask into a bride of Frankenstein by simple changing
the hair and adding some eyelashes.
To Make a Homemade Frankenstein Halloween Make You Will Need:
Green felt
Black felt
Red felt
Paint pens/ Puff paint pens (optional)
Scissors or pinking sheers
Fusible craft interfacing
Elastic string or twine or yarn
Fabric glue
To get stated measure how tall your child's head is. Cut out your green felt to this same height. Take the tape measure and measure how far it is from ear to ear on yoru child. This is how wide the green felt piece will need to be.
Now, cut out a piece of the fusible interfacing to this same size.
Iron the two together.
Now, cut out a strip of black felt to the same width as your green felt. Make it about two inches tall.
Keep the straight lines on the top and bottom of the black felt, but cut the bottom in a zig zag motion for hair.
Use the fabric glue to glue this to the top of the green felt rectangle.
Now, use scissors to cut out the eyes. Make a dot for the center of the eyes. Fold the fabric on the dot and cut out the eyes on the Frankenstein mask.
Now, cut out a mouth as well.
When cutting any details, be sure to hold the Frankenstein mask up to yoru child's face and make sure to line it up with their features.
Now, you can use the black felt to cut out eyebrows, or even eyelashes.
The red felt will make great lips. Cut these out and glue on with the fabric glue.
You can use the fabric paint pens or puff paint to add details as well.
You can even cu tout bolts out of brown fabric and glue them onto the bottom right and bottom left of the homemade Frankenstein mask.
Now, poke two holes on the left and one on the right. Use these hole to tie on the elastic thread to attach the mask.
