With all the new fall television shows, there are several shows that seem to be reminiscent of other shows. Is this going to be the case with CW's Reaper? reminiscent of Showtime's Dead Like Me, but it does have it's own differences. Is it enough to make it distinct, or will it live in the shadow of Dead Like Me? Lets take a bit of a look at the show to see.

For the first twenty years of his life, Sam's parents went easy on him. They never pushed him to do better for himself and let him get away with putting forth minimal effort. This meant that when Sam graduated from high school he skipped college, taking a dead-end job at the local home improvement store and spending his free time playing video games. That was, until his 21st birthday and he learned why they didn't push him. They had sold his soul to the devil before he was born.

Satan decides to pay a visit to Sam, to explain that he will now serve as a bounty hunter of evil souls and return them to Hell. Sam refuses to accept that this is his fate, raising Satan's ire with him until he gets one glimpse of Satan's temper. Sam realizes quickly that breaking a deal with the devil, even if he didn't make it, has rather harsh consequences that he would rather not face.

Armed with constantly changing "vessels", Sam finds that his new line of work is dangerous and frightening. Though his life has suddenly changed, Sam finds himself feeling good about his new "job" of removing evil from the world and sending them back to where they belong, Hell. He finds himself changing his slacker ways and standing ready to face his destiny as a Reaper.

Reaper stars Bret Harrison as Sam, Allison Hossack as Sam's mom, Andrew Airlie as Sam's dad, Kyle Switzer as Sam's brother Kyle and Ray Wise as Satan himself. Coming from the brilliant minds at ABC Studios with executive producers Michele Fazeka, Tara Butters, Mark Gordon, Deborah Spera and Tom Spezialy, Reaper premiers on September 25th at 9/8c.

Tune in to the all new CW Tuesday night and see if Reaper really is as different from Dead Like Me as it claims to be.
