So you've been on the dating scene for a while. Making your rounds of clubs, bars, and even local church functions. Yet, you seem to come up empty handed every time. While dating and relationships have many rules, it all starts with picking one girl and making your approach.

Dating is an adult's game. Make no mistake about it. Just as in any sport, you must have strategy and knowledge of your opponent to win. In the game of dating, you do not have a playbook that tells you exactly what to say and what to do at every second. That experience comes with time. There are a few simple rules to follow, however. Understanding these rules will greatly increase the chances of the girl seeking you out, rather than you doing all the work.

Focus - Don't Obsess

What is the difference? Focus is defined as close attention, while obsession is defined as excessive attention. Women are not looking for a man that cannot seem to do anything but be one-step behind her at all times. When attempting to meet a girl, the last thing you want to do is be around every second. Leave her sight; let her wonder where you went. Truthfully, if there are other women around, whether you hold an interest in them or not, talk to them. She will surely notice and her attention will increase, if she was interested to begin with. Behaving like a love-struck puppy will definitely ruin the deal for you.

Occasional Glances - Not Excessive Staring

Have you ever caught yourself staring at a beautiful woman? Chances are she saw you staring before you did. Remember how it feels when someone is staring at you? The hairs on the back of your neck stand up and you have an overwhelming feeling of being watched. Freaky experience, isn't it? Well how do you think your beautiful woman feels when you are ogling her from across the room? Your obsessive stare is drinking in every inch of her. She is most likely going to be turned off and a little bit nervous. Any approach at this point would be useless.

If you cannot find the courage to approach her, before your glances turn to excessive staring, then move on. Continued staring with no approach will get you nowhere.
