By now, unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard about the O.J. Simpson Vegas casino break-in. According to witnesses, Simpson and three other men barged into a casino hotel room brandishing firearms, to retrieve sports memorabilia O.J. feels belongs to him. Apparently, instead of going through the court system to have the items returned like most of us would do, O.J. took matters into his own hands and used strong-arm tactics to retrieve this merchandise. Once again, Americans are stunned by the actions of O.J. Simpson.

We shouldn't be surprised: O.J. Simpson is a psychopath. He fits every textbook description of a psychopath; he is a man without a conscience who feels the world revolves around him. And why not? After all, we made him think it did.

Celebrities and sports figures in our society are given special treatment by other people all of the time. A young man who is a good football player gets better treatment in school than one who is not. A woman who is pretty gets better treatment than one who is unattractive. This special treatment begins in grammar school and continues throughout most of their lives. After a while, the celebrity begins to feel that he or she is a superior human being, which one of the common traits displayed by psychopaths.

However, most children with special, inherent talent or exceptional beauty do not normally become psychopathic murderers. Other than an inflated sense of self-worth, there are many other factors included in a psychopathic personality. These include:
