That's right folks, if you liked Hell's Kitchen, then you have to see Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon Ramsay is going to be invading restaurants in the United States and try to help them turn themselves around. Inspired by one of the UK's biggest hits, Kitchen Nightmares finds Ramsay facing unknown problems when he walks into a restaurant. Sometimes it's lazy chefs, sometimes it's a dirty kitchen, but more often than not, it's a combination of many different problems.

Ramsay's rough exterior and bad temper is enough to scare the most stubborn owners to change their ways. He has a way about him that makes people want to listen. He shows the owners what needs to be done to turn their restaurant around and make things better.

Ramsay doesn't bother with polite small talk or hand-holding, he will whip a chef into shape or they will be walking out the door. He doesn't bother mincing words, what he thinks is what you'll hear, expletives and all. Anyone who has watched Hell's Kitchen knows just how many expletives you can hear in one hour.

Ramsay will work over your menu and show the owners just how to get the most bang for their buck out of their food without going bust. He can turn a restaurant from failure to fabulous, if the owners will listen to what he has to say and pay attention to what he shows them.

For instance, for the premier, Ramsay travels to Peters, a family run Italian restaurant in Babylon, New York. When he gets there, it's like he's walked into a scene from The Godfather. He's faced with a hot-tempered manager and co-owner who wants to spend more money on himself than his business. It's not hard to tell this as soon as you get the first glimpse of the kitchen. Of the three stoves only one works, meaning that they have two, maybe four burners to cook meals for a dining room full of people. One oven that looks like it's ready to give up any day is the only one that works, so they use the other two for storing things, like towels.
