There are times in our lives that we must realize that with age also comes the lose of focus, lose of movement and activity, lose of being able to do the things that you once could, and lose of being able to take care of yourself the way that you should. People who have home health aids that visit their home are those who are capable of living on their own but still need the extra help.

1. Your family member is becoming overwhelmed or stressed out by a lot of things

A little bit of help can go a long way. Stress can be brought on by a lot of things. If a loved one is not able to move the way that they did and it takes them a while to clean or cook for themselves, a home health aid can help with these issues so that they are not standing for a great period of time. There are a lot of elderly people who are unable to stand for more than a few minutes at a time and this can make house work seem like a real chore.

2. Their driving has become a hazard

There aren't very many people who will admit that their eye sight has gotten bad enough that they can verily see the road. My grandmother finallly stopped driving when she ran a stop sign that she didn't see and hit an on coming vehicle. Thankfully she was okay but this was a lesson that she learned. She gave up her driving priveledges and now has a home health aid to do her errons for her. Another thing about erron running is that a lot of senior citizens will try to get all their errons done in one day and this causes them to either become stressed or tired from all the running around that they had to do.

3. Even though you love your loved one, you are unable to do the things that they need done

Senior citizens will often feel like they are a burden to their loved ones and decide that they would rather do them on their own. If you are working a full time job, you may not be able to help them the way that they need help. A home health aid is paid to help senior citezens and disabled people so most senior citizens do not look at themselves as being a burden to them.

4. They need extra help but a nursing facility is not an option
