Fourth of July celebrations aren't limited to just one day! Wisconsin will be celebrating beginning July 1, and offers fun for the whole family. All counties and districts featured below are in date order, with contact phone numbers provided:
Saturday, July 1 2006:
Castle Rock Lake begins a fireworks display at dusk in Castle Rock County Park in Adams County. Call (608) 339-6555 for details.
Fire on the River: The Wisconsin River features one of the area's biggest fireworks displays, and the festivities begin at dusk in Sauk Couty. Call (800) 683-2453 for details.
Wanderoos 39th Independence Day Celebration: This event in Polk County offers two parades, a chicken dinner, and volleyball and softball tournaments for the whole family. Fireworks begin at dusk, and picnic baskets are recommended. Call (715) 268-2618 for details.
Rhythm and Booms: The Midwest's largest fireworks display returns to Madison offering a carnival, live bands, and a synchronized schedule of music and fireworks after 9 p.m. Call Warner Park at (800) 951-2264 for details.
Thunder in the Hills: This old-fashioned celebration in Richland County offers music, family games, a maze, and fireworks scheduled for an after-dark performance. Call (608) 647-6205 for details.
Capitol City Band Fourth of July Special: This event begins at 10:30 a.m. on the Capitol Square, and showcases patriotic music and a salute to troops and veterans. Fireworks are scheduled throughout the day. Call (608) 835-9861 for details.
